Valentine's Day

On this day, many crushes will be crushed.

As in, on this day, many couples will be created. From all walks of life, nerdy, sexy, show-off, bossy or shitty people, all of these people will "stead" (a really silly word, by the way) or marry today. The amount of shotgun "steads" created on this day will be prodigiously huge.


Why is this day so special?

No, it is not special. It is not a public holiday nor it is a school holiday. Not many people know what Valentine's Day is all about, that includes me. All they do is give gifts and say: "Happy Valentine's Day". Some do not even know that is spelt as "Valentine's" and not "Valentines".

Yes, it makes a good excuse to give something to someone you really like on this day. A convenient excuse (or "reason"), I shall say. The thing about this day is that it may not be so special for your loved one after all. You may be giving her something, but three/four/five other people may also be giving her/him something. This will dilute the effect that you want to give to her/him.

I know. I am being extremely utilitarian. But..life is a roller-coaster.

I saw many people giving away roses in school. Why roses? Roses will wither and die a horrible death, probably thrown into a disposal or the petals will slowly detach, giving the rose a slow and painful death. Roses are impractical. Look at it, is there anything that we can do to it that will make it useful? You can't replant it, we are in Singapore, we don't have enough land. Also, do you know that roses have thorns that can kill? Do you want to be convicted for murder? Obviously not. So why are you giving your loved ones roses?

I do agree that the media creates a mountain out of a molehill. The funny thing is, people love reading tabloids.

I admit, celebrities do have pretty "interesting" lifestyles, but still, they're just human that entertains us for a living and of course, make tons of money. The paparazzi should give them some leeway and stop shadowing celebrities into their private lives. Excluding the mentally deranged Britney Spears (Who was recently being photographed without wearing any underwear beneath her skirt. However, it's good to know that she isn't a hermaphrodite), who is a media whore and loves being the centre of attraction. She's dating paparazzo, Adnan Ghalib. Has he been "paparazzi-ing" her? And for those who didn't know, she lost custody of her child a few days ago. This was because Britney had a "drug-and-alcohol-fueled lifestyle."

Back to the topic.
People like Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Zac Efron, Lindsay Lohan and Amy Winehouse DO deserve their privacy.

Okay, maybe not Angelina Jolie, she's nothing but a manipulative bitch. What's up with her breaking up so many families? It looks like she has a fetish only for married men. In fact, she doesn't even really like children that much; she called Shiloh, her biological child, a blob. I think she adopts so as to make up for all her sins. It's unbelievable how she was voted as Forbes magazine's #1 celebrity humanitarian. And I wonder how many times has she had her lips injected with restylane. To worsen things up, she's anorexic too.

Jennifer Aniston is just trying to concentrate on her career. She has around 8 movies coming up. It's obvious that she has long gotten over Brad Pitt. It's been almost 3 years since they've been divorced yet people just can't get used to the fact that they're not together anymore. She's rumoured to be dating Jason Lewis and is probably with child. Can't people just leave her alone?

The second picture above is said to be Zac Efron. If it's true (I believe it's a fraud though), it just proves that Zac Efron has had rhinoplasty. I don't see what the fuss is about. Most celebrities has been under the knife at least once.

As for Lindsay Lohan and Amy Winehouse, so they've been in and out of rehab countless times, big deal. Just let them take their drugs!

The bottom line is paparazzi are irritating. They really should get a life.

Have you ever seen similar messages before? Yes, you did(I answered the question for you). Messages like these appear everywhere in friendster.com, a place where friends can connect, share images, tell others about their lives, etc, etc, etc.

But it is also a place where people strive to be "popular"; a person with many "friends" and comments/testimonials. They think that having many so-called friends will make them seem popular, but I disagree. People add them just because they are pretty(very pretty), and they have a "private profile". Which means that the guys will have to add them just to see their faces(over and over again).


Which leads me to another problem.

"Thanks for the add" is a popular exchange-sentence. They will say this when someone adds them, and so, the owner of the profile will say: Thanks for the add. Apart from the major English language error the question has, the sentence is a sign of desperation.


Adding other profiles is just a way to increase the number of "friends" they have in friendster. As there is a limit to the number of friends they have, they also make..

MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS!


Yes, people who have thousands of friends make multiple account for themselves. Good job! Now there are more galleries for me to view your photos! When I read their comments, all I see are Birthday greetings and "Care for intro" messages from guys. For the girls, they will say: "Friends forever". I disagree with the "friends forever" theory, this is because, everyone will die eventually.


There is also a much-abused system in friendster. And it is the bulletin board. Yes, it is full of spam and useless chain -bulletins; bulletins that is supposed to be "re-posted" again and again and again. I always avoid such areas in friendster.


I am not saying that friendster is bad or anything. It is just that many people abuse the system and thus making friendster a much littered place. If only everyone stick to the concept of design, then friendster would be an excellent place for everyone to "hang out".
